Viola Davis Stars As A Heroic U.S. President In Action Thriller G20 On Prime Video
Viola Davis is set to take on an electrifying new role in the action thriller G20, premiering globally on Prime Video on April 10. Directed by Patricia Riggen, the film casts Davis as U.S. President Danielle Sutton, a war hero turned political leader, who must outwit attackers targeting the annual G20 summit.
The high-stakes plot follows President Sutton as she evades capture, protects her family, defends her country, and ensures the safety of world leaders amidst a global crisis. Riggen describes the film as a “classic, edge-of-your-seat action film” infused with modern, high-tech stakes.
Written by Caitlin Parrish, Erica Weiss, Logan Miller, and Noah Miller, the film is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, MRC, Mad Chance Productions, and Davis’s own JuVee Productions. Davis, along with Andrew Lazar and Julius Tennon, also serves as a producer.
Speaking at the Red Sea Film Festival, Davis shared her enthusiasm for the role: “Danielle Sutton is the ultimate hero—an idealistic, powerful leader navigating unimaginable challenges. It’s the kind of character you dream of playing.”
Get ready to see Viola Davis redefine what it means to be a cinematic action hero in G20, streaming exclusively on Prime Video this spring.
