André Holland , John Earl Jelks, Andra Day, And Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor Star In New Drama ‘Exhibiting Forgiveness’ In Theaters Now

Unforgiveness is one of the most complex and challenging emotions of the human experience. On one hand, it can feel empowering and justifiable depending on the circumstances that led to such an emotion. On the other hand, it can be a haunting feeling, one that slips through the crevices of our homes, surrounds us the midnight hour, and forces us to gurgle the pain and harmful experiences of the past.

Forgiveness, however, can offer us a transformative path to a kind of freedom that unbinds us from the strongholds of an afflicting past. In the new semi-autobiographical drama ,‘Exhibiting Forgiveness,’ director Titus Kaphar wrestles with the complexity and challenges of forgiveness in his debut film. In the trailer, protagonist Tarrell (André Holland) cares for his family as he works to achieve success as an artistic painter. His path is shaken by a visit from his estranged father, La’Ron (John Earl Jelks), who seeks to reconcile their relationship after overcoming his crack addiction. When Tarrell is confronted by his father, he faces a dilemma: deal with it here or let the unforgiveness follow him home with his family.

‘Exhibiting Forgiveness’ is a heart-touching film by painter, sculptor, and filmmaker Titus Haphar about nuanced familial relationships, and the challenges and beauty of navigating forgiveness. Additional star features in this film include Andra Day, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Ian Foreman, Dan Nainan, Jaime Ray Newman, Tony Torn, and more.

The film is produced by Titus Kaphar, Derek Cianfrance, Jamie Patricof (Hunting Lane production company), Stephanie Allain (Homegrown Pictures), and Sean Cotton.
