The highly anticipated film, ‘Shooting Stars,’ is set to debut on Peacock on June 2. Based on the book by LeBron James and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Buzz Bissinger, the movie tells the story of James and his high school basketball team's rise to becoming the number one team in the country.

The film stars Marquis “Mookie” Cook, who played with James' son Bronny James on the West team in the boys' All-American game on ESPN. Cook portrays a young LeBron James, while Caleb McLaughlin, Avery S. Wills Jr., Khalil Everage, Dermot Mulroney, Wood Harris, and Sterling “Scoot” Henderson round out the cast.

Set in the 1990s, the movie follows James and his three childhood friends, Lil Dru (McLaughlin), Willie McGee (Wills), and Sian Cotton (Everage), as they declare themselves the "Fab Four." The group, under the guidance of coach Dru Joyce (Harris), is connected by more than just basketball. However, when the coach at the top basketball school in their district threatens to separate them by putting Lil Dru on junior varsity, the friends decide to switch schools to be able to play varsity together. They join the team at a predominantly white Catholic school instead, which causes tension within the community.

The boys' new coach, a disgraced former college coach seeking redemption, is played by Dermot Mulroney. The team also adds a new teammate, Romeo Travis (Henderson), who was a former rival. The group will face battles not only on the court but in real life as well, as they strive to become national champions.

LeBron James serves as a producer on the film, along with Rachel Winter, Spencer Beighley, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, and Terence Winter. The movie is executive produced by Gretel Twombly.

The teaser trailer for Shooting Stars premiered during the boys' All-American game on ESPN, generating a lot of buzz for the film's release. Fans of LeBron James and basketball enthusiasts alike will surely be excited to see this inspiring tale come to life on the big screen.
