Academy Award winners Spike Lee and Denzel Washington reunite, joined by rappers A$AP Rocky and Ice Spice, for Lee’s forthcoming film, ‘Highest 2 Lowest’. The movie is a reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime thriller ‘High and Low,’ which tells the story of an executive at a Yokohama shoe company who is targeted by extortionists after his chauffeur’s son is mistakenly kidnapped and held for ransom. Although Lee has revealed few details about the plot, Washington plays a music mogul with his own label, a reimagined character inspired by Toshiro Mifune’s role as a shoe business executive in the original film. A$AP Rocky has the main role in the film while Ice Spice makes her acting debut with at least one scene with Washington.
