The Wayans Brothers are making a triumphant return to the big screen with the highly anticipated reboot of the Scary Movie franchise. Paramount and Miramax have announced that the satirical horror-comedy will hit theaters on June 12, 2026. This marks the first time in 18 years that the iconic siblings have joined forces to write a new original script for the series. Rick Alvarez, a longtime collaborator, is also on board as a writer and producer.

Marlon Wayans just announced the return of the ‘Scary Movie’ franchise via his Instagram account today. He attributed the decision of it’s return to the demand from the fans. Marlon Wayans had this to say:

”WE’RE BACK!!! After nearly 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally going to give the fans what they’ve been asking for… a return to
the SCARY MOVIE franchise! We’re looking forward to having fun on the big screen again.”
