Magazine Dreams, the Sundance hit that put Jonathan Majors in the spotlight, is finally headed to theaters. Known for his intense portrayal of a troubled bodybuilder, Majors’ performance generated significant Oscar buzz after the film’s premiere. Now, Briarcliff Entertainment has secured the U.S. distribution rights, with plans for a release in early 2025.

Jonathan Majors is set to star in and produce ‘Da Understudy’ from Westbrook Studios and Amazon Studios. Majors will produce the feature under his Tall Street Productions umbrella. Sources said that Spike Lee is circling to direct.

With Michael B. Jordan making his feature directorial debut, the film about Apollo Creed’s son is eyeing a potential franchise-high opening with an estimated $38M-$40M debut across 4,007 theaters.
