Romantic Comedy ‘That’s Her’ Starring Coco Jones, Kountry Wayne, And More Wraps Production

The highly anticipated romantic comedy That’s Her, featuring a standout cast led by Kountry Wayne (Time Bandits, Praise This), Coco Jones (Bel-Air), Emmy Raver-Lampman (The Umbrella Academy, Hamilton), and Loretta Devine has officially wrapped production in Atlanta.

The film centers on a corporate-climbing playboy (Wayne) caught between two love interests: a charming office temp (Jones) and a high-powered executive (Raver-Lampman). As he navigates the pull between true love and career ambition, the story promises to deliver heartfelt humor and relatable moments. Supporting cast members include Tabitha Brown, J. Alphonse Nicholson (P-Valley), Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams, and comedian Bovi.

Directed by Nina Lee, who co-wrote the screenplay with Wayne and Tiffany Yancey, That’s Her explores how familial relationships shape modern dating while balancing poignant storytelling with comedy. “This film digs deeper than the usual rom-com by reflecting on how our parents’ love stories influence us. Yet, it’s still hilarious with vibrant characters and stunning visuals,” said Lee. The director drew inspiration from classics like When Harry Met Sally, Boomerang, and B.A.P.S., creating a contemporary homage to these beloved films.

Stephen “Dr.” Love, known for projects like They Cloned Tyrone and Shadow Force, serves as producer through his Made with Love Media banner, alongside Wayne’s Kountry Wayne Entertainment. Coco Jones also joins as an executive producer, alongside Latisha Fortune.

The film’s music is being crafted by Kids Against Cubicles (KAC), a division of LVRN—the powerhouse behind artists like Summer Walker and 6lack. The soundtrack combines nostalgic and modern sounds, enhancing the movie’s emotional and comedic beats.

That’s Her harkens back to the golden era of ’90s rom-coms while embracing a fresh perspective. “This movie delivers the nostalgic vibe of classics like Boomerang and Brown Sugar with a modern twist,” said Wayne. Love added, “With Lee’s unique vision, we’re blending artistic nods to films like La La Land and Her while honoring timeless favorites.”

Domestic distribution rights for That’s Her are being handled by CAA Media Finance, signaling strong anticipation for its release. Stay tuned for more updates on this dynamic and heartfelt comedy.
