‘Moonlight’ Returns To Theaters In IMAX This Black History Month

Academy Award winner Barry Jenkins gave us ‘Moonlight’ in 2016 and the film flowed through the cinema and pop cultural landscapes, alluring us with its beautiful and endearing representations of Black queer love, brotherhood, and the complexities of identity, masculinity, and self-discovery. The film, starring Mahershala Ali, Trevante Rhodes, Ashton Sanders, André Holland, Jharrel Jerome, and Alex R. Hibbert, earned the 2017 Academy Award for Best Picture and continues to receive widespread acclaim for its cultural impact.

Jenkins announced that A24 and IMAX are collaborating to re-release ‘Moonlight’ in theaters nationwide on Thursday, February 27, in honor of the anniversary of the 2017 Academy Award ceremony.
