Melanie Liburd | Power Season II: Ghost/Starz

The Bad Boys franchise is coming back for a fourth installment of the franchise, and it looks like it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. Melanie Liburd, who’s made a name for herself with roles in This Is Us, Power Book II: Ghost, and more, has landed a leading role in the upcoming movie. While the movie’s title hasn’t been revealed yet, sources say that Liburd will play the character of Christine.

The Bad Boys franchise has been a fan favorite for years, following the adventures of two Miami detectives, Mike Lowrey (played by Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (played by Martin Lawrence). The franchise has grossed over $840 million across three films, with the most recent installment, Bad Boys For Life, earning $426 million and becoming the highest-grossing movie of the franchise. The first Bad Boys movie was released in 1995, followed by Bad Boys II in 2003, and Bad Boys For Life in 2020.

In addition to Smith and Lawrence, the upcoming movie stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Eric Dane, and of course, Melanie Liburd. The script was penned by Chris Bremner, and the movie is being produced by a team consisting of Smith, Jerry Bruckheimer, Doug Belgrad, and Chad Oman. The executive producers include Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman, and Jon Mone.

Melanie Liburd’s inclusion in the cast is a significant credit to her growing resume, which includes major roles in popular TV shows like This Is Us and Power Book II: Ghost, as well as a recurring role in The Wknd’s HBO series The Idol. She also stars alongside Alicia Silverstone in the horror film Perpetrator, which premiered in Berlin in February. Her previous credits include appearances in Game of Thrones, the Netflix series Gypsy, and Syfy’s Dark Matter.

Fans of the Bad Boys franchise can look forward to the latest installment, which promises to deliver the same action-packed, cop adventure that the previous films are known for. With a star-studded cast and experienced filmmakers at the helm, the fourth Bad Boys movie is expected to continue the franchise’s legacy of commercial success. Stay tuned for more updates on the movie’s title and release date!
