Starz’s ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ Season 3 Adds Wendell Pierce & Erika Woods In Recurring Roles

Starz's hit show "Power Book III: Raising Kanan" is back for its third season with some new faces. Wendell Pierce and Erika Woods have both joined the cast in recurring roles.

Pierce will be playing the character of Ishmael "Snaps" Henry, a former bank robber and OG dealer who now mentors and finances up-and-coming drug dealers like Kanan. His partner and wife, Stephanie "Pop" Henry, will be played by Woods. The couple will act as Kanan's mentors in his journey towards becoming the ultimate franchise baddie.

The show is the third installment of the Power Universe and tells the story of Kanan Stark's origin. The character was first portrayed by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson in the original series, but now MeKai Curtis will be playing the younger version of the character. The series gives insight into Kanan's journey into the criminal world through his mother Raquel "Raq" Thomas, played by Patina Miller, who runs the family's drug empire.

"Power Book III: Raising Kanan" is executive produced by Courtney A. Kemp through her production company End of Episode, Jackson through G-Unit Film and Television, and Mark Canton through Atmosphere Entertainment MM. Lionsgate Television produces the series for Starz.

Pierce is a well-known actor, best known for his portrayal of Det. Bunk Moreland in the critically acclaimed HBO series "The Wire" and Antoine Baptiste in "Tremé". He currently stars as James Greer in Amazon's "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" and will co-star in the upcoming CBS drama, "Elsbeth", an anticipated spinoff of the hit primetime series, "The Good Wife", as NYPD Captain Wagner.

Woods' credits include NBC's "The Blacklist", CBS's "Blue Bloods", and NBC's "The Michael J. Fox Show". She has also appeared in numerous national commercials and served as an Associate Producer on the Feature Film "Santorini Blue".

With the addition of Pierce and Woods to the cast, "Power Book III: Raising Kanan" promises to be an exciting season filled with drama and suspense.
