Marvel Studios’ ‘Blade’ Removed From 2025 Release Schedule

Marvel Studios' Blade will no longer hit theaters on November 7, 2025. Instead, Disney will release 20th Century Studios’ Predator: Badlands on that date.

Blade, a reboot of the iconic Wesley Snipes franchise, was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 with Mahershala Ali set to star. However, production faced delays due to the pandemic and industry strikes. The project has also seen two directors exit—Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange. Actress Mia Goth, cast as the villain Lilith, shared that despite the setbacks, Marvel is committed to delivering a quality film.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige emphasized the importance of getting the script right, stating that the movie won't proceed until they’ve perfected the story.

The Blade trilogy, which began in 1998 with Blade, followed by Blade II (2002) and Blade: Trinity (2004) all starring Wesley Snipes, grossed $418.1 million globally, marking the early success of R-rated superhero films.
