Marcus Scribner & Maxwell Cunningham Join Clarence Maclin In Ray Panthaki Film ‘In Starland’
Marcus Scribner (Black-ish) and Maxwell Cunningham (Top Dog) are joining Clarence Maclin (Sing Sing) in the upcoming indie drama In Starland, marking the feature directorial debut of British actor-filmmaker Ray Panthaki.
Set against the backdrop of small-town life, In Starland explores the struggles of middle age through a man's journey as he encounters a fearless group of young artists. Panthaki developed the original story and co-wrote the screenplay with Jason Kavan. The film is set to begin production in Mississippi this month.
Panthaki is producing under his newly launched company, Le Bateau Lavoir, alongside Daniel Khalili (Trespass Against Us) and Daisy Allsop for Archface.
Scribner, best known for his roles in Black-ish and its Freeform spin-off Grown-ish, has earned five NAACP Image Award nominations, winning twice. His film credits include How to Blow Up a Pipeline, Farewell Amor, and How I Learned to Fly.
Cunningham recently starred in Season 2 of the crime thriller Top Dog and appeared in Netflix’s rom-com One More Time. He is also set to star in the upcoming series A Life’s Worth.
Both actors are represented by Artists First, with Scribner also signed with CAA and Del Shaw Moonves, and Cunningham with Agentfirman in Sweden.
