Issa Rae’s ColorCreative Announces Major Strategic Partnership With HarbourView Equity Partners

Issa Rae’s management and production company, ColorCreative, has entered a new phase of growth through a strategic partnership with investment firm HarbourView Equity Partners. The deal, unveiled during the Cannes Lions Festival, signals a significant expansion in ColorCreative’s global reach and capabilities.

While financial details remain undisclosed, the partnership is designed to accelerate the company’s content production, expand talent representation, and enhance its ownership of original IP. This move comes on the heels of ColorCreative doubling its revenue from 2023 to 2024, despite challenges across the entertainment industry.

“Partnering with HarbourView allows us to dream even bigger while staying true to our mission,” said Issa Rae. “We’re committed to championing visionary talent and authentic stories.”

Founded in 2014 by Rae, Deniese Davis, and Talitha Watkins, ColorCreative has long been focused on amplifying underrepresented voices in TV, film, digital, and branded content. New projects under the partnership are expected to begin production in early 2026.

HarbourView CEO Sherrese Clarke Soares praised ColorCreative’s cultural impact, stating, “They’ve created a blueprint for global storytelling rooted in Black culture. We’re excited to help them scale their vision.”

Watkins added, “This partnership is a milestone for us. With HarbourView’s support, we’re ready to take culturally-driven content to the global stage — without sacrificing creative integrity.”

HarbourView, launched in 2021, has been steadily growing its entertainment portfolio with investments in music royalties and content assets from artists like T-Pain, Luis Fonsi, and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins. The firm’s alliance with ColorCreative marks a deeper dive into the scripted content space and a shared ambition to influence storytelling at a global level.
