Hollywood Actress Cynthia Kaye McWilliams Joins Blake Martin’s ‘Sunday Evenings’ as Executive Producer

Chicago, IL – Acclaimed actress and Hollywood powerhouse Cynthia Kaye McWilliams (Average Joe, Real Husbands of Hollywood, Prince of Peoria) has officially signed on as Executive Producer of the highly anticipated original series Sunday Evenings, written and directed by Chicago creative visionary Blake Martin.

This marks the debut project under McWilliams’ newly launched company CynCity Productions, the production arm of CynCity Creative, as well as the first original series from Martin’s 3rd Week of January Productions. Together, these two powerhouse storytellers are set to deliver one of the most talked-about independent series of 2026.

Starring Kenneth Anthony Richardson and Inglish India Washington, Sunday Evenings follows the layered and dynamic journey of a couple whose carefully curated image as popular marriage podcast hosts collides with their private struggles and ongoing divorce. The series shines a light on imperfect characters, positive Black LGBTQ+ storylines, and the transformative power of truth and healing. Production is currently underway and is scheduled to wrap in October 2025, with the official release set for January 2026.

“Between Cynthia’s massive experience, mentorship, and passion for storytelling, and my drive to tell authentic, Chicago-rooted stories that embrace not-so-perfect characters, celebrate Black LGBTQ+ love, and show the power of facing yourself and choosing healing, this collaboration makes Sunday Evenings more than just a show—it’s an artistic movement. Both Cynthia and I share an extreme passion for helping Chicago talent grow, advance, and expand,” said Martin.

“Though Sunday Evenings marks Blake’s first turn as writer, director, and showrunner, he commands the role with a confidence and clarity that far surpasses what you’d expect of a debut. His vision is bold, his execution intentional, and his artistry unmatched. He doesn’t read as a novice or a rookie—he is already a force, one that the industry would be wise to take note of.” — Warren Diggs, HULU

With McWilliams’ star power and Martin’s fearless storytelling vision, Sunday Evenings is positioned as one of 2026’s must-see independent series.
