David Jonsson Stars In ‘The Long Walk,’ Coming To Theaters September 12

“Walk or die.” That’s the only rule in ‘The Long Walk,’ Lionsgate’s forthcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s 1979 classic dystopian novel. BAFTA winner David Jonsson stars as Peter McVries, a determined walker competing in a deadly contest where slowing down means dying.

The story centers on the annual Long Walk contest, where 100 young men must maintain a pace of three miles per hour without rest. As their limbs begin to crack, creak, and moan under the sheer exhaustion of the long distance, they are threatened with three warnings to continue their walk before they are shot for stopping. But when the guys learn there is no finish line and no way out, how far will they go to survive?

The film is directed by Francis Lawrence and co-produced by J.T. Mollner.

Check out the trailer here. ‘The Long Walk’ hits theaters September 12.
