Erivo, who founded Edith’s Daughter in 2020, shared her excitement about the partnership. “Working with Universal on Wicked has shown me their dedication to fearless storytelling. This deal is not just a milestone for Edith’s Daughter but also a celebration of diverse voices in film. I’m thrilled to bring our stories to life.”

Current projects include a remake of The Rose for Searchlight Pictures and a film about 19th-century Nigerian princess Sarah Forbes Bonetta. On the TV side, the company is developing Raising Wild with Apple, alongside Renee Zellweger and Toluca Pictures.
