Apple TV+ Unveils First Look At Dope Thief Starring Brian Tyree Henry
Apple TV+ has revealed the first images and details for its upcoming crime drama Dope Thief (formerly titled Sinking Spring). Created by Peter Craig, known for his work on The Batman and Top Gun: Maverick, the eight-episode series stars Brian Tyree Henry, who also serves as an executive producer.
Set to debut on Friday, March 14, 2025, with a two-episode premiere, Dope Thief will release new episodes weekly through April 25. Based on Dennis Tafoya’s novel, the series tells the story of two lifelong friends from Philadelphia who impersonate DEA agents to pull off a heist. What starts as a small-time scheme spirals into a deadly operation as they uncover a massive hidden drug corridor on the East Coast.
The ensemble cast features Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison, and Ving Rhames. Produced by Apple Studios in collaboration with Scott Free Productions, Dope Thief marks Craig’s directorial debut. He penned all eight episodes and joins a producing team that includes Ridley Scott, Brian Tyree Henry, and more.
Prepare for an intense blend of friendship, deception, and high-stakes drama when Dope Thief premieres next spring.
