Cuba Gooding Jr., Vivica A. Fox, Vernon Davis, And More Star In ‘Break The Cycle’

Renowned actors Cuba Gooding Jr., Vivica A. Fox, Vernon Davis, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson are joining forces for the upcoming urban thriller, "Break the Cycle." The film, set to be directed by Josh Webber, explores the narrative created by former NBA player Jarnell Stokes in his debut screenplay. Additional cast members include Loretta Devine and Kym Whitley, promising a star-studded ensemble for this compelling project.

Scheduled to commence production in Memphis in March, "Break the Cycle" delves into the challenging lives of two brothers whose formative years are scarred by a tragic incident. Raised by their caring yet strict grandmother, the siblings embark on divergent paths as they navigate the gritty streets of Memphis during their coming-of-age journey.

Jay, a talented basketball player with dreams of NBA stardom, becomes a symbol of hope for his grandmother and a potential escape from their harsh reality. However, his charismatic but troubled brother, Eddie, deeply immersed in street crime, casts a looming shadow over Jay’s promising future.

Jarnell Stokes, the mastermind behind the screenplay, expresses his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This film is a heart-pounding journey through the world of streetball that explores themes of family, ambition, and the moral complexities of urban life." Stokes adds, "It tells the story of navigating a treacherous path, an unfortunate reality for far too many young boys in our urban communities. I’m excited to have written my first film and honored to be working with such a tremendously talented group of actors to bring this project to life.”

Producers Rob Goodrich and Jason Armstrong of Walk Like A Duck Entertainment echo their excitement about the script, emphasizing its terrifying plausibility as essentially a true story. They express their thrill to collaborate with Stokes, Webber, and the entire team to bring "Break the Cycle" to the big screen as a gripping thriller.

Vivica A. Fox, one of the lead actors, shares her pride in working on a meaningful film with a passionate group of people. She expresses anticipation for the impact "Break the Cycle" will have, hoping it will motivate change or spark important conversations in viewers' lives.

In addition to Jarnell Stokes, producers on "Break the Cycle" include Rob Goodrich and Jason Armstrong of Walk Like A Duck Entertainment, with Henry Penzi serving as the executive producer.

The film boasts a stellar cast, with Cuba Gooding Jr. represented by manager and attorney Peter Toumbekis, Vivica A. Fox by Sheila Legette Entertainment, Vernon Davis by UTA, manager Henry Penzi, and Fox Rothschild, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson by Golden Foo Entertainment, Penzi Management, and attorney Robert Galarza, Loretta Devine by Innovative Artists and Essential Talent Management, Kym Whitley by Innovative Artists, 111 Media, and Untitled Entertainment, and director Josh Webber by Penzi Management.
