Disney+ is gearing up for the release of the latest installment in the Descendants franchise, "The Rise of Red." The movie is set to bring together an impressive cast, including Brandy Norwood and Paolo Montalban, who will be reprising their roles as Cinderella and Prince Charming, respectively.

Norwood and Montalban previously starred in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, a television movie that aired back in 1997. Now, they will be joining the Descendants cast, with Norwood as Cinderella and Montalban as King Charming. The duo will play the parents of Chloe, played by Malia Baker.

"The Rise of Red" follows the story of Red, the daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, the daughter of Cinderella. When the Queen of Hearts incites a coup against Auradon, Red and Chloe must team up and travel back in time to undo the event that set Red's mother on her villainous path.

The movie's cast is star-studded, with Kylie Cantrall playing Red, Rita Ora as the Queen of Hearts, China Anne McClain as Uma, Dara Reneé as Uliana, Ruby Rose Turner as Bridget/Young Queen of Hearts, Morgan Dudley as Ella/Young Cinderella, Joshua Colley as Hook, Melanie Paxson as Fairy Godmother, Jeremy Swift as Principal Merlin, and Leonardo Nam as Maddox Hatter.

"The Rise of Red" is directed by Jennifer Phang, known for her work on "The Flight Attendant," and co-executive produced by Phang and Suzanne Todd. The script is written by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer, with production design by Mark Hofeling.

Fans of the original Cinderella movie can look forward to seeing Norwood and Montalban reunite on screen, as they take on their roles once again in "The Rise of Red." The movie promises to be an exciting addition to the Descendants franchise, with a cast of talented actors and a thrilling storyline.
