50 Cent Cast As Balrog In Live-Action ‘Street Fighter’ Reboot
Rapper, actor, and producer 50 Cent is taking his talent back to the streets! The rapper is reportedly set to play the villainous boxer Balrog in the upcoming live-action reboot of ‘Street Fighter.’
The movie is based on the 1987 ‘Street Fighter’ video game series, in which a global mix of martial artists battle it out, one-on-one, in a fighting tournament organized by M. Bison, leader of the evil Shadaloo organization.
Balrog debuted in the 1991 game ‘Street Fighter II: The World Warrior’ and grew to become a relentless boxer who fought his way to the top before his hyperaggressive antics eventually caused him to be banned from the sport. Now, 50 Cent is set to bring Balrog’s grit to life in the upcoming film, announcing the news on social media.
Additional star features include Callina Liang, Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Roman Reigns, and Orville Peck.
Capcom, the developer and publisher behind the video game series, is co-producing the film, with Kitao Sakurai set to direct.
