Woah, Lover! Kelly Rowland, Method Man, Robin Thede, and Annie Gonzalez Set to Star in Amazon MGM Rom-Com, ‘Relationship Goals’
Grammy Award-winning artists Kelly Rowland and Method Man team up for a special rom-com, ‘Relationship Goals,’ for Amazon MGM studios. The project is based on Michael Todd’s New York Times best-selling book, ‘Relationship Goals: How to Win at Dating, Marriage, and Sex,’ a refreshing guide to finding love and building a thriving relationship by getting real about your goals, values, and what truly matters. The film brings this practical guide to life with Rowland and Method Man, joined by Emmy Award nominee Robin Thede and Annie Gonzalez as co-stars.
‘Relationship Goals’ is written by Laura Lekkos and directed by Linda Mendoza. Rowland and Bart Lipton will serve as executive producers, with DeVon Franklin as the producer. The star-studded cast has already sparked excitement among fans who eagerly anticipate the film’s fresh take on love and relationships.
The talented cast of ‘Relationship Goals’ also brings a diverse range of experience, having starred in acclaimed films and television projects that showcase their versatility in romance, drama, and comedy. Rowland most recently starred in Tyler Perry’s steamy Mea Culpa (2024) alongside Trevante Rhodes on Netflix. She also starred in Merry Liddle Christmas (2019), Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding (2020), Merry Liddle Christmas Baby (2021), and more.
Method Man starred in the cult classics Belly (1998) and How High (2001), as well as the critically acclaimed HBO series The Wire (2002–2008). His performances showcased his natural talent and on-screen presence and paved the way for his success in the film industry. Most recently, he starred in STARZ’s Power Book II: Ghost (2020–2024), for which he won three NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Emmy Award Nominee Robin Thede created and starred in the hilarious series A Black Lady Sketch Show (2019- 2023), which won an Emmy for Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming in 2023. She also starred in Bad Hair (2020) and has history-making writing credits for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner (2016), The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore (2015), and The Rundown with Robin Thede (2017), among others.
Annie Gonzalez starred in Gente-fied (2020), Mama Retreat (2021), Flamin’ Hot (2023) and Jenni (2024). She brings a fresh presence to Relationship Goals, showcasing her versatility in both heartfelt and comedic roles.
