Theo Rossi Joins HBO Max’s Batman Series, ‘The Penguin’
Theo Rossi has been cast in a recurring role for the upcoming HBO Max original series "The Penguin" (working title) alongside Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti. The show, which has been produced by Warner Bros Television and DC Studios, is an eight-episode drama that continues the Batman crime saga begun by Matt Reeves with "The Batman."
Farrell plays the titular character in the show, while Milioti portrays the female lead, Sofia Falcone. Details about Rossi's character have yet to be revealed. Rhenzy Feliz also stars in the series.
"The Penguin" is executive produced by Reeves, Dylan Clark, Farrell, Lauren LeFranc, who also serves as showrunner, Craig Zobel, who directs the first three episodes, and Bill Carraro. Based on the characters created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger for DC, the series is produced by Reeves' 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros Television.
Rossi is best known for his roles in "Marvel's Luke Cage," "Sons of Anarchy," and "Army of the Dead." He most recently starred in "Emily the Criminal," alongside Aubrey Plaza, for which he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination. The actor will next be seen in the Jaume Collet-Serra-directed thriller "Carry On" for Netflix and Amblin, among other projects.
