The Weeknd, Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan Thriller ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ Set For May 2025

The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, is making his big-screen debut in Hurry Up Tomorrow. Directed by Trey Edward Shults, the suspense thriller also stars Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. Lionsgate has set its release for May 16, aligning with the launch of The Weeknd’s new album and tour.

The film, inspired by The Weeknd’s music, serves as the final chapter of his artistic trilogy that began with After Hours and Dawn FM. It features new music from the artist, blending his cinematic and musical worlds.

Produced by The Weeknd’s Manic Phase and Reza Fahim, alongside the late Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss, the film boasts an impressive production team. Executive producers include Jenna Ortega, Trey Edward Shults, and music industry heavyweight Wassim “Sal” Slaiby. Behind the scenes, the creative team includes cinematographer Chayse Irvin, production designer Elliott Hostetter, and costume designers Erin Benach and Hannah Jacobs.

Director Trey Edward Shults is renowned for his emotionally intense films, including Waves, It Comes At Night, and his award-winning debut, Krisha.

Launching during a competitive May schedule, Hurry Up Tomorrow will open alongside Final Destination: Bloodlines and follows Marvel’s Thunderbolts and Universal’s Golden.
