Tasha Smith Replaces Theresa Randle As Martin Lawrence’s Wife In "Bad Boys 4"
The latest installment of Sony Pictures' "Bad Boys" franchise, "Bad Boys 4," will see the addition of Tasha Smith to its star-studded cast. Smith will play Theresa, the loving and devoted wife of Marcus Burnett, portrayed by Martin Lawrence. This role was previously played by Theresa Randle in the first three films of the "Bad Boys" series. The plot details of "Bad Boys 4" are currently under wraps.
Smith is a well-known actress, having played various roles in successful movies and TV shows such as Carol in the drama series "Empire," Ronnie Boyce in HBO's Emmy-winning series "The Corner," and Angela in Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married?" In addition to acting, Smith has also directed several episodes of popular TV shows such as "Our Kind of People," "Mayor of Kingstown," and "Bel-Air." She is represented by Greene Talent & Fox Rothschild.
The "Bad Boys" series stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami-Dade detectives Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett, respectively. The upcoming fourth film will also feature Paola Núnez, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and "Euphoria's" Eric Dane.
The first "Bad Boys" film was a box office hit, earning $141 million globally. Its 2003 sequel, "Bad Boys II," was even more successful, raking in $273 million. The latest installment, "Bad Boys for Life," surpassed its predecessors, earning a total of $426.5 million.
After the release of "Bad Boys for Life" in 2020, Sony Pictures quickly announced the development of "Bad Boys 4." Will Smith and Martin Lawrence teased the upcoming film in a reunion video posted on social media in January, with the caption "IT'S ABOUT THAT TIME!"
Both Smith and Lawrence expressed their excitement for the movie at this year's CinemaCon, revealing that they were about four weeks into filming. The film will be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, with a script written by Chris Bremner. Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith, and Doug Belgrad will produce the film, while Lawrence, Chad Oman, Mike Stenson, Jon None, James Lassiter, and Barry Waldman will serve as executive producers.
Fans of the "Bad Boys" series will undoubtedly be excited to see Tasha Smith join the already impressive cast for "Bad Boys 4." As the film's plot remains a mystery, audiences will have to wait until its release to see how Smith's character, Theresa, fits into the story.
