Ava DuVernay, the acclaimed director of Selma and creator of notable TV series like When They See Us and Queen Sugar, is embarking on a fresh journey in the television industry. Her longstanding overall deal with Warner Bros. TV is set to conclude at the end of May.

MGM+ has officially given a ten-part series order to the adaptation of Stephen L. Carter’s best-selling novel, Emperor of Ocean Park. The network has enlisted Sherman Payne, writer of the hit series Shameless, to lead the project.
