FX has officially greenlit a pilot for the Snowfall spinoff, marking a major step toward expanding the acclaimed series.

Set in 1990s Los Angeles, the untitled drama follows Wanda Bell-Simmons (Gail Bean), a recovering addict determined to push West Coast rap into the mainstream while navigating the dangers of an ongoing gang war. Isaiah John will also reprise his role as Leon Simmons.

Aziza Danielle Bailey Barnes was an American poet, screenwriter and playwright. Barnes frequently performed slam poetry and performed at the Da Poetry Lounge, Urban Word NYC, PBS News Hour and Nuyoricans Poets Café. They wrote for television shows, including 'Snowfall,' 'Rap Sh!t,' and 'Teenage Bounty Hunters.' May They Rest In Heaven.

A spinoff of the popular drama series ‘Snowfall’ is currently in its early stages of development at FX. The potential offshoot is said to feature Gail Bean reprising her role as Wanda, from the original show.
