Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society, Christopher McQuarrie To Produce Action Thriller ‘Iron Curtain’ In Works At Amazon
Outlier Society, the production company of actor Michael B. Jordan, is partnering with Christopher McQuarrie, known for his work on the Mission: Impossible franchise, to produce a new action thriller called ‘Iron Curtain.’ Amazon Studios is backing the project, which is in its early stages of development, and McQuarrie has enlisted Emmy winner Erik Jendresen to handle the rewrites on his original screenplay.
There are no details about the plot of Iron Curtain as yet, but the project has been in development for some time. McQuarrie wrote the script in 2003, and it was originally set up with Intermedia. However, the rights eventually transferred to Resurgence Media Group. Elizabeth Raposo, who was previously President of Production at Paramount Pictures and now oversees production and development alongside Jordan as President of Outlier Society, felt that McQuarrie's script would be a good fit for the company.
Jordan has had a successful run with Amazon, directing, producing, and starring in Creed III, which broke records with the biggest opening weekend for Amazon and grossed over $155 million domestically and over $271 million globally. He has a first-look film deal and overall TV deal with Amazon, and will oversee a film and TV universe of Creed-related projects.
McQuarrie, a powerhouse writer, director, and producer, is currently working on the Mission: Impossible franchise, as co-writer, director, and producer of the upcoming installments, Dead Reckoning. He was also nominated for two Oscars for his work on the Best Picture contender, Top Gun: Maverick.
Iron Curtain will be produced by Jordan and Raposo for Outlier Society. Jordan is represented by WME, M88, and Ziffren Brittenham, while McQuarrie is represented by CAA, Key Creatives' Ken Kamins, and attorney David Fox of Myman Greenspan Fox.
