Michael B. Jordan To Receive 2025 American Cinematheque Award

Michael B. Jordan is set to receive the 39th American Cinematheque Award, honoring his outstanding contributions to the film industry. The award will be presented on November 20 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

Known for his powerful performances in Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther, Jordan has become a major force in Hollywood, not only as an actor but also as a director and producer. His recent film Sinners, a box office hit grossing over $319 million globally, further solidified his standing as a top-tier talent. The film marks his fifth collaboration with director Ryan Coogler.

Jordan also made a notable directorial debut with Creed III, which broke records as the highest domestic opening for a sports film. Beyond the screen, he’s committed to uplifting others through initiatives like the Outlier Society Fellowship and the HBCU Legacy Classic.

“Michael B. Jordan’s career reflects a rare blend of artistic excellence and purposeful leadership,” said American Cinematheque board chair Rick Nicita. “We’re proud to recognize him as this year’s honoree.”

The American Cinematheque Award is a prestigious honor previously given to industry legends such as Denzel Washington, Julia Roberts, and Robert Downey Jr.
