KevOnStage Comedy Series, ‘Churchy,’ Gets Greenlight For Season Two On BET+
BET+ has renewed Churchy for a second season following its success as the platform's top scripted comedy during its debut week last February. Created by comedian Kevin “KevOnStage” Fredericks and LeBron James’ SpringHill Company, Churchy follows Corey, a new pastor navigating small-town church life in Lubbock, Texas, with a comedic twist.
BET will debut Churchy on its linear cable network on Tuesday, November 5, at 9 p.m. ET. Jason Harvey, BET+’s EVP, praised the series, saying it “blends humor and heart,” resonating strongly with audiences.
Season 2 will bring Fredericks back in the lead role, alongside cast members Anthony Elfoniza, Lexi Allen, London Solomon, Mark J. P. Hood, and Shani Shockley. New faces Quin Walter and Tahir Moore join the regular cast, while Nic Few, Tony Baker, and Tabitha Brown will make guest appearances. Fredericks and Melissa Fredericks return as executive producers for KevOnStage Studios, with LeBron James and Maverick Carter producing for SpringHill.
Kevin Fredericks expressed gratitude to BET and fans, adding, “The cast and I can’t wait to bring you even more comedy and a bigger, better show.”
Churchy joins BET+’s expanding comedy lineup, including the returning Average Joe. Fans are still awaiting updates on other shows, such as The Ms. Pat Show, Diarra from Detroit, and Tyler Perry’s Bruh, while Zatima recently launched its third season.
