Jimmy Akingbola Documentary ‘Handle With Care’ Picked Up By Peacock

Peacock, the NBCUniversal streaming platform, has recently picked up the documentary "Handle with Care," produced by TriForce Productions and featuring Bel-Air star Jimmy Akingbola. The documentary initially premiered on ITV in the UK and follows Akingbola's upbringing after being adopted by parents of a different ethnicity than his own.

In "Handle with Care," Akingbola shares his experience growing up in the British care system while meeting others who have had similar experiences. Among those featured are Save Me star Lennie James and athlete Kriss Akabusi. Akingbola recently shared with Deadline that the documentary tells a "positive story" about growing up in care.

Peacock subscribers may already be familiar with Akingbola from his role as Geoffrey the butler in the streamer's The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot, which was recently renewed for a third season. Akingbola noted that Peacock is the "natural home" for his documentary due to the parallels between his personal story and that of Bel-Air.

Akingbola's other credits include Kate & Koji, In the Long Run, and Ted Lasso. He is also a co-founder of TriForce Productions, along with Fraser Ayres and Minnie Ayres.

"When art imitates life, the result can be an inspiring, educational and revelatory story for the ages," Akingbola said of the documentary's Peacock pickup. Fans of the actor and those interested in the British care system can look forward to watching "Handle with Care" on the streaming platform.
