Idris Elba Reveals 10-Year Plan To Relocate To Africa And Boost Their Film Industry

Idris Elba is committed to boosting Africa’s economy by investing in its film industry. The 52-year-old actor, with roots in Ghana and Sierra Leone, recently shared his vision with BBC, outlining a plan to move to Africa within the next decade to focus on the continent's movie business.

“I’m here to bolster the film industry. That’s a ten-year process,” Elba explained. He plans to live in cities like Accra, Freetown, and Zanzibar, immersing himself in African storytelling.

Elba also revealed plans to open film studios in Zanzibar and Accra, stressing the need for Africans to lead in all aspects of filmmaking, from financing to distribution and marketing.
