Don Cheadle Leads Jazz Musician-Killer Feature ‘Canyon’ In Works At Alcon Entertainment
Oscar-nominated actor Don Cheadle is set to lead Canyon, a gripping new thriller from Alcon Entertainment. Directed by Colin Tilley with a screenplay by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, the story unfolds over a single intense night. Cheadle plays Canyon, a part-time jazz musician and full-time hitman who becomes the unlikely guardian of a young woman entangled in a deadly feud between rival crime families.
The film is produced by Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Jon Davis, Jeremy Stein, along with Cheadle and Kolstad.
Cheadle, known for his Oscar-nominated performance in Hotel Rwanda and his role as Rhodey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Iron Man, Avengers), brings his signature intensity to this role.
Screenwriter Derek Kolstad, famed for creating the John Wick franchise, recently wrote the sequel Nobody 2, slated for release in August 2025. He’s also contributed to Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Amazon Prime’s Die Hart.
Director Colin Tilley, celebrated for his Grammy-nominated music videos for artists like Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, and Nicki Minaj, brings his unique vision to the project.
