Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Sterling K. Brown, And More Sign On To Cathy Yan’s ‘The Gallerist’ Film
Sterling K. Brown and Da’Vine Joy Randolph are set to join Cathy Yan’s intriguing new project, The Gallerist. This darkly comedic film, will be independently financed by MRC, explores the desperate schemes of a gallerist attempting to sell a corpse at Art Basel Miami. Brown, an Emmy winner (American Fiction), and Randolph, an Oscar winner (The Holdovers), bring their star power to a stellar ensemble cast that also includes Zach Galifianakis (Only Murders in the Building), Daniel Brühl (The Franchise), Charli XCX (I Want Your Sex), and Catherine Zeta-Jones (Wednesday).
Yan, known for her work on Birds of Prey, co-wrote the script with James Pedersen (High Heat). Backed by an impressive team of producers, including Ash Sarohia (The Little Hours), Jonathan King (Green Book), and Natalie Portman through her MountainA banner, the film is slated to begin production later this year.
For Brown and Randolph, The Gallerist is another chance to showcase their versatile talents in a fresh and unconventional story. Both have been making waves in Hollywood, with Randolph recently earning acclaim for her role in The Holdovers and Brown continuing his award-winning streak in American Fiction. Their participation in this edgy narrative further solidifies their status as two of the industry’s most compelling performers.
