Danielle Deadwyler Stars In New Thriller ‘The Woman In The Yard’ In Theaters March 28
Parents often tell their children not to wander too far from home because trouble may find them. But what happens when trouble shows up at your front door? The chilling, forthcoming film ‘The Woman in the Yard,’ starring Danielle Deadwyler, offers a gruesome, close-up encounter with a mysterious woman (Okwui Okpokwasili) who suddenly appears in the front yard of a grieving family's rural farmhouse, disrupting their daily lives and raising hell for all of them.
Deadwyler plays a widow, crippled by the grief of her husband’s (Russell Hornsby) passing, and left to raise her young daughter Annie (Estella Kahiha) and son (Peyton Jackson) alone. The family attempts to move forward from their sadness with loving messages, laughter, and good food until an unexpected visitor emerges–the woman in the yard. Chilling messages, rustling wind chimes, bloody hands, supernatural hauntings, and shadowy forces torment the family as the mysterious woman inches her way closer to their home.
Who called her there, and what does she want?
The film is written by first-time feature screenwriter Sam Stefanak and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. Jason Blum (Blumhouse) and Primetime Emmy Award nominee Stephanie Allain are the producers for this project. Deadwyler, Collet-Serra, James Moran, and Gabrielle Ebron serve as executive producers.
