‘Bookie’ Has Been Canceled After Two Seasons At Max

The comedy series Bookie, created by Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay, has been canceled by Max after two seasons.

Premiering in November 2023, the show followed the high-stakes world of sports betting, led by comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. Despite positive reception, Max confirmed it will not proceed with a third season.

“For two seasons, Chuck Lorre, Nick Bakay, and an incredible cast brought laughs while pulling back the curtain on sports betting,” a Max spokesperson said. “Though we won’t continue, we’re grateful for this hilarious ride.”

The series featured Omar Dorsey, Andrea Anders, Vanessa Ferlito, Jorge Garcia, Maxim Swinton, Rob Corddry, and Selina Kaye, with guest appearances from Charlie Sheen, who reunited with Lorre after Two and a Half Men.

Bookie concluded its run with 16 episodes, wrapping up with “A Whale in Pomona” on January 30, 2025.
