BET Renews ‘Ms. Pat Show’ For Season 5 And Star Extends Overall Deal With Network
BET+ has confirmed that The Ms. Pat Show will return for its fifth season, and Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams has extended her overall deal with BET Media Group to develop new content across both streaming and linear platforms. This deal solidifies her ongoing relationship with BET, initially formalized in 2022, with her first project being the unscripted courtroom series Ms. Pat Settles It, now in its second season.
The Ms. Pat Show, inspired by Williams’ life and memoir Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat, presents a raw, comedic take on her journey from a former drug dealer and felon to a suburban mom. This multi-generational family comedy dives into culturally relevant themes with humor and honesty, addressing sensitive issues like non-binary identity, Black hair, school violence, and drug addiction. The show’s relatable storytelling has struck a chord with audiences, offering both humor and healing across four seasons.
The returning cast includes Williams, J. Bernard Calloway, Tami Roman, Vince Swann, Briyana Guadalupe, Theodore John Barnes, and Brittany Inge. Executive producers Jordan E. Cooper, Patrick Walsh, Lee Daniels, Brian Grazer, Deb Evans, Jon Radler, and Natalie Berkus will also return, with Mary Lou Belli continuing as director. Notably, Belli has been nominated for an Emmy three times for her work on the series.
