‘All Rise’ Cast Get The Axe Ahead Of Season 3B Run At OWN

It's no secret that the television industry is a cutthroat business, and once again, a popular show is facing possible cancellation. ‘All Rise,’ the courtroom drama series led by Simone Missick, may be coming to an end after its producing studio, Warner Bros. Television, released the cast.

After its cancellation by CBS following two seasons, OWN picked up All Rise for a 20-episode Season 3 in 2021, which has now been completed. The season was slated to air in two 10-episode batches, with the first half airing last summer and the second half scheduled for later this year. While Season 3A performed adequately by cable standards, it was not able to attract a broadcast-sized audience on OWN.

With the cast options coming up and Season 3B yet to be scheduled, Warner Bros. Television notified the actors that their options are not being picked up. OWN is expected to make a decision on the show's future after the episodes air. While some are holding out hope, many industry insiders believe that this is likely the end for All Rise.

All Rise follows the lives of judges, prosecutors, and public defenders as they navigate the flawed legal system in Los Angeles. Missick stars as Judge Lola Carmichael, a former deputy district attorney who challenges the expectations of what a judge can be.

The show's main cast includes Missick, Wilson Bethel, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, Ruthie Ann Miles, Lindsay Mendez, and Lindsey Gort, with Marg Helgenberger as a special guest in Seasons 1-2. Created by Greg Spottiswood, All Rise was produced by Warner Bros. Television.

Despite its possible cancellation, All Rise has received recognition for its outstanding performances. The show was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at both the 2021 NAACP Image Awards and the Black Reel Awards for Television in 2020. Missick was also nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series at both awards ceremonies in 2020 and 2021.
