Will Smith Set To Reunite With Director Michael Bay For Netflix Action Film ‘Fast And Loose’

Will Smith is gearing up for another blockbuster, and this time, he's reuniting with his Bad Boys director, Michael Bay, for the Netflix action-thriller Fast and Loose. Although the deal isn't finalized, sources confirm that Bay is in the final stages of negotiations to direct the film, which will star Smith. The project is expected to be the next major undertaking for both of these Hollywood heavyweights.

Fast and Loose follows a man who wakes up in Tijuana with no memory, only to discover he's been living a double life: one as a crime kingpin and the other as an undercover CIA agent. The script, penned by Jon and Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner, and Eric Pearson, promises a thrilling ride for audiences. The film is being produced by Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, and Smith himself through his Westbrook Studios, with Jon Mone and Ryan Shimazaki also in talks to produce.

This project comes on the heels of Smith’s departure from the thriller Sugar Bandits, which had previously been slated as his next film. With that change, fans were eager to see what Smith would tackle next, and the buzz surrounding Fast and Loose suggests it's set to be another major hit.

The partnership between Smith and Bay goes back nearly 30 years, starting with the 1995 action-comedy Bad Boys, which launched Smith into global stardom and cemented Bay’s status as a top action director. After their successful collaboration on Bad Boys II in 2003, fans have been anticipating another reunion. Bay, who also directed the Netflix hit 6 Underground and the action-packed Ambulance, has proven his ability to deliver major box office hits, and his return to work with Smith is generating plenty of excitement.

Fast and Loose will mark another milestone in Smith’s career, building on the momentum of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which grossed over $400 million globally. With the combined star power of Smith and Bay, this film is poised to be a major event in Netflix’s ongoing push for high-profile releases.
