John David Washington | ‘The Creator’

20th Century Studios, New Regency, and Entertainment One have released the first trailer, poster, and stills for their upcoming epic sci-fi action thriller, "The Creator" (previously known as "True Love") starring John David Washington. This highly anticipated film is set to hit theaters on September 29th.

"The Creator" takes place in a future where humanity is locked in a fierce war against artificial intelligence. The story follows Joshua (played by John David Washington), a former special forces agent who is grappling with the mysterious disappearance of his wife, portrayed by Gemma Chan from "Eternals." Joshua is recruited to embark on a dangerous mission: to track down and eliminate the elusive Creator, the mastermind behind advanced AI technology. The Creator has devised a powerful and enigmatic weapon that has the potential to end the war and, ultimately, wipe out humanity. As Joshua and his team of elite operatives venture into enemy territory, they make a startling discovery—the world-ending weapon they were tasked to destroy is an AI in the form of a young child.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on blockbusters like "Rogue One" and "Godzilla," "The Creator" promises a thrilling and visually stunning experience. Edwards, together with Chris Weitz, has crafted an engaging script based on a story by Edwards himself. Joining John David Washington and Gemma Chan in the cast are acclaimed actors Ken Watanabe ("Inception"), Sturgill Simpson ("Dog"), talented newcomer Madeleine Yuna Voyles, and Academy Award winner Allison Janney ("I, Tonya").

Behind the scenes, the film is produced by Gareth Edwards, Kiri Hart, Jim Spencer, and Arnon Milchan. Serving as executive producers are Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Natalie Lehmann, Nick Meyer, and Zev Foreman.

"The Creator" is set to make its grand entrance at the box office, going head-to-head with an upcoming Universal title and the indie film "Abandonment," starring Richard Dreyfuss. The release date coincides with several other highly anticipated movies, including Ethan Coen's "Drive-Away Dolls," Sony's "The Book of Clarence," and Lionsgate's "The Expendables 4," all scheduled to open on September 22nd. Additionally, Paramount's "PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie" and a re-release of "Howl's Moving Castle" are set to premiere on the 23rd.

Get ready for an exhilarating sci-fi experience as "The Creator" takes you on a gripping journey into a war-torn future, where the lines between man and machine blur in unimaginable ways. Mark your calendars for September 29th and be prepared to witness a battle for survival like no other.
