Viola Davis Honored With Her First-Ever Wax Figure At Madame Tussauds Hollywood

Congratulations to the incomparable EGOT-winning actress, producer, author, and icon Viola Davis on being honored with a wax figure in Madame Tussauds! The renowned wax museum unveiled her regal wax figure, adorned in a beautiful red Armani gown and a sleek pixie cut with a complementary bracelet and metallic clutch. The costume is a tribute to her glamorous 2017 Oscars red carpet look, honoring her win for Best Supporting Actress for her striking performance in the 2016 film adaptation of Fences.

Davis has been a defining figure within the theatre, film, and entertainment industry for decades. In 1996, she made her Broadway debut in August Wilson’s play Seven Guitars and starred in his works King Hedley II (2001) and Fences (2010), earning two Tony Awards for her stellar performances.

Since then, Davis has delivered many culturally resonant and transformative performances, from fierce fictional roles like Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder and Veronica Rawlings in Widows, to powerful portrayals of real-life figures like General Nanisca in The Woman King and the legendary “Mother of Blues,” Ma Rainey, in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Her new wax figure is not just a tribute to her brilliance on stage and screen; it’s a celebration of one of the most powerful and influential artists of our time.
