Samuel L. Jackson Joins Kevin Hart In ‘Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist’ For Peacock

Legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson, renowned for his iconic roles in The Marvel Cinematic Universe and Pulp Fiction, is set to star in the Peacock limited series, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. Joining him is the charismatic comedian and actor Kevin Hart, who not only stars but also produces the highly anticipated series.

Jackson will take on the role of Frank Moten, a real-life underworld figure known as the Black Godfather by the New York tabloids. The storyline, set in Atlanta, revolves around the aftermath of Muhammad Ali's historic victory over Jerry Quarry, a moment that transpired during Ali's ban from boxing for refusing military draft entry. The night of celebration turns into chaos as hundreds of attendees at an after-party become victims of one of the largest armed robberies in U.S. history.

Directed by Craig Brewer, the series marks a reunion between Jackson and Brewer, who previously collaborated on the 2006 film Black Snake Moan. Brewer will helm the first two episodes, bringing his directorial expertise to this gripping tale of crime and intrigue.

Kevin Hart, not only a lead actor in the series but also a key producer, ensures the project's success. The limited series, which received a series order from Peacock in December, is based on the iHeartPodcast of the same name. The narrative comes from the minds of Shaye Ogbonna and Will Packer, with Ogbonna and Echo 3 executive producer Jason Horwitch serving as showrunners.

Other notable contributors include Bryan Smiley and Mike Stein for Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat, Packer and Sabrina Wind for Will Packer Media, Conal Byrne, Will Pearson, and Carrie Lieberman for iHeartPodcasts, Jeff Keating, and Lars Jacobson. The collaboration is a testament to the industry's creative prowess, with Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, overseeing the production.

Samuel L. Jackson, an enduring Hollywood presence for over four decades, has recently reprised his role as Nick Fury in The Marvels. His 2024 lineup includes a historical epic, The Unholy Trinity, alongside Pierce Brosnan, Netflix’s The Piano Lesson with Corey Hawkins and John David Washington, The Garfield Movie from Columbia Pictures, and the Apple Original Film Argylle.

Jackson's illustrious career spans various film and TV projects, with notable contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars franchise. His collaborations with Quentin Tarantino, particularly his portrayal of Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction, have left an indelible mark on cinema.

As Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist brings together the dynamic talents of Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Hart, audiences can anticipate a thrilling series that combines crime, drama, and star-studded performances.
