Ryan Michelle Bathé Joins Terry Crews In CBS Comedy Pilot ‘JumpStart,’Based On Comic Strip
Ryan Michelle Bathé is set to join the cast of CBS’ JumpStart, a multi-camera comedy pilot based on the long-running comic strip created by Robb Armstrong. Bathé will play Marcy, the wife of Joseph L. Cobb, played by Terry Crews. The show is set in Philadelphia and centers around the lives of the young, hip, urban parents with old school values and their two teenage kids.
Bathé’s character Marcy is a hard-working nurse who is naturally maternal and wise beyond her years. She shares a close bond with her husband Joe, even when they don’t always agree. The couple enjoys their middle-class life in their Philly neighborhood, where they meet challenges and have goofy times.
JumpStart has been adapted for television by Wayne Conley and is being produced by Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Wendi Trilling’s TrillTV, and CBS Studios. Phill Lewis will direct and executive produce the pilot. The show's executive producers are Crews, Kaplan, Melanie Frankel of Kapital Entertainment, Trilling for TrillTV, Armstrong’s producer Bridget McMeel, Troy Zien, and Armstrong as co-executive producer.
Bathé has had a successful acting career, with credits including NBC’s The Endgame and the feature film Sylvie’s Love. She will next star in the Lifetime movie Boy in the Walls.
Variety first reported the news of Bathé's casting, and Deadline confirmed it. Fans of the comic strip will undoubtedly be excited to see the characters come to life on screen, and the talented cast and crew assembled for JumpStart will likely make it a hit.
