Regina Hall Joins Cast Of Searchlight Pictures Rock Opera ‘O’Dessa’

Regina Hall has landed a role in Searchlight Pictures' upcoming rock opera, O'Dessa. The film, which starts production in Croatia in May, is set in a post-apocalyptic future and follows Sadie Sink's character on a quest to retrieve a family heirloom. Along the way, she meets Kelvin Harrison Jr.'s character, who becomes her true love. But in order to save his soul, she must put the power of destiny and song to the ultimate test.

Hall's role in the film is currently undisclosed, but it is known that the film will feature original songs penned and produced by Geremy Jasper and Jason Binnick. Michael Gottwald will produce for the Department of Motion Pictures, along with Noah Stahl and Rodrigo Teixeira for RT Features. Jonathan Montepare, Dan Janvey, and Lourenço Sant’Anna will serve as executive producers.

Regina Hall is a multi-talented actress who has recently been nominated for an NAACP Image Award for her performance in The Best Man: The Final Chapters. She has also starred in and produced the dark comedy Honk for Jesus. Save your Soul., which received critical acclaim and sold for $8.5M at the Sundance Film Festival.

Hall has executive produced and starred in Mariama Diallo’s Prime Video psychological horror pic Master, as well as Uni’s fantasy comedy Little. She has also produced and starred in the Showtime comedy series Black Monday alongside Don Cheadle.

Hall's production company, Rh Negative, has a first-look deal with Showtime, and she recently signed on to produce and star in director Jim Strouse’s horror comedy Breitenbush. She is represented by APA.
