The festival's unofficial soft opening on Wednesday features a free screening of "Million to One," a local independent film by Prince George's filmmaker Harold Jackson. This community screening, partly funded by the Prince George's Film Office, showcases scenes filmed in the county, setting the stage for an engaging festival experience.

Thursday evening marks the official kick-off with a screening of "The Deadly Getaway" by Prince George's filmmaker Tressa Smallwood. This film, entirely shot in Prince George's County, will be followed by an exclusive conversation with actor, activist, and entrepreneur Lamman Rucker, hosted by Lesli Foster of WUSA9.

Friday offers a full day of professional development, workshops, and panels at the Sunset Room above Fogo de Chão at National Harbor. Experts from across the film industry will share their knowledge, including Lamman Rucker, who will discuss producing and directing. The day concludes with a high-powered networking reception and outdoor screenings of trailers and shorts.

Saturday shifts the focus to Bowie State University, featuring panels and workshops, with speakers from renowned studios like Pixar, LAIKA, and Adobe. The animation sector takes center stage, providing valuable insights and resources for up-and-coming animators. Additionally, Lamman Rucker leads an actors workshop.

The festival culminates on Sunday with a closing brunch and celebration in the grand ballroom at MGM National Harbor. Attendees can engage in an intimate conversation with the iconic Lynn Whitfield, hosted by esteemed journalist Harriette Cole. The event concludes with the presentation of the Best of Festival Awards, where attendees and judges have the opportunity to recognize their favorite films of the festival.
