Omar Epps Joins Netflix’s Limited Series ‘The Perfect Couple’ With All-Star Cast

Omar Epps

Actor Omar Epps, known for his role in ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan,’ is set to star in the upcoming Netflix limited series ‘The Perfect Couple.’ The series is based on the New York Times bestseller by Elin Hilderbrand and is set to feature a star-studded ensemble cast including Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Meghann Fahy, Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson, and Jack Reynor.

Epps will play the character of Chief of Police, Dan Carter, in the six-episode murder mystery drama. The show follows the story of Amelia Sacks, who is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. However, when a body is discovered on the beach, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels like it's been plucked from the pages of a novel. As secrets are revealed, everyone becomes a suspect, including Amelia's future mother-in-law, famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury, who has spared no expense in planning the premiere wedding of the season.

The Perfect Couple is being developed by 21 Laps under their overall deal with Netflix, and it will be produced alongside The Jackal Group. Showrunner Jenna Lamia created the show, which will be executive produced by Shawn Levy and Josh Barry from 21 Laps, Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady from The Jackal Group, Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, Hilderbrand, and director Susanne Bier.

Epps is a 3x NAACP Award winner and has appeared in several TV shows and films, including House, Shooter, This Is Us, Resurrection, Love & Basketball, and Juice. He recently starred in the Netflix film Fatal Affair, which was the streamer’s most-streamed film in the US in the two weeks following its debut. Epps is also set to star in Lee Daniels' upcoming horror-thriller The Deliverance, alongside Andra Day, Mo'Nique, Aunjanue Ellis, and others.

Epps is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller. The Perfect Couple promises to be an exciting addition to Netflix's growing lineup of must-watch limited series, and we can't wait to see Epps in action alongside the star-studded cast.
