Nathalie Emmanuel To Star In Universal's Remake Of ‘The Killer’ Opposite Omar Sy

Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel has been cast in the lead role for Universal's upcoming The Killer remake, alongside Omar Sy. The Killer is a reimagination of John Woo's 1989 film, which follows an assassin who accepts one last job to earn the money needed to pay for the eye surgery of a singer whom he had previously blinded. Woo is on board to produce the film, which will stream exclusively on Peacock.

The Killer is one of three original films that Peacock has slated for release this year. The movie's screenplay was written by Matthew Stuecken, Josh Campbell, Eran Creevy, and Brian Helgeland. Emmanuel's role in the film was announced by Deadline.

Emmanuel is widely recognized for her breakout role as Missandei in the hit HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, which aired from 2013-2019. She has since starred in a number of successful films, including Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and its sequel, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, as well as various Fast & Furious films such as Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, and F9. Emmanuel's most recent work includes the lead role in Army of Thieves.

The Killer remake is expected to bring a fresh take on the original film, which starred Chow Yun Fat, and will be an exciting addition to Peacock's growing list of exclusive content. With a star-studded cast and a talented team of writers and producers, The Killer is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year.
