Epps praised Ice Cube for creating so many opportunities for Black men in the industry through his movies. He says, “Big shout out to Cube, man. That’s another brother that has put so many brothers on, man… and [he] don’t really get the props for it.” Fans are excited to see Epps and Ice Cube reunite for the fan-favorite franchise to deliver the gut-busting humor that had us crying laughter since the ‘90s!

The first ‘Friday’ premiered in 1995, starring Ice Cube, Chris Tucker, the late John Witherspoon and Tommy Lister Jr., and Bernie Mac. Nia Long, Regina King, F. Gary Gray, DJ Pooh, Faizon Love, Paula Jai Parker, Anna Maria Horsford, Anthony Johnson, Angela Means, and Tony Cox also had leading roles in the film’s debut. ‘Friday’ featured the late Yvette Wilson, Terri J. Vaughn, Megan Good, Reynaldo Ray, Ronn Riser, and the late LaWanda Page in this hilarious and adventurous film about a typical Friday in South Central Los Angeles.

‘Next Friday’ premiered in 2000, starring cast newcomers Mike Epps, Don Curry, Clifton Powell, Kym Whitley, Tamala Jones, The Lady of Rage, Sticky Fingaz, and Michael Blackson. Cheridah Best, Jacob Vargas, Lisa Rodriguez, Lobo Sebastian, and Rolando Molina were among the other stars added to this hilarious sequel about Craig (Ice Cube) and Day-Day dodging their arch nemesis, Deebo (Lister Jr.).

‘Friday After Next’ followed two years later with Katt Williams, Terry Crews, Bebe Drake, Rickey Smiley, K. D. Aubert, and Sommore joining the cast for the third hysterically funny installment of the franchise, where Craig and Day-Day put their heads together to make rent after a light-fingered Santa (Smiley) made his rounds in the neighborhood. Additional cast members included, Don “Magic” Juan, Erica Vittina Phillips, Dolores Sheen, Reggie Gaskins, Maz Jobrani, Trina McGee, and Khleo Thomas, with Starlette DuPois, Jennifer Echols, and more, rounding out the cast for this laugh-out-loud film.

Mike Epps’ return to the franchise with comedy newcomers is expected to keep the spirit of the franchise alive for years to come!
