Lance Reddick Of ‘The Wire’ And ‘John Wick’ Franchise Dead at 60
Actor Lance Reddick, known for his iconic roles in "The Wire" and the "John Wick" movie franchise, has passed away at the age of 60. According to law enforcement sources, his body was discovered at his Studio City home on Friday morning around 9:30 AM. The cause of his death is currently unknown, but it is believed to be natural.
Reddick had been busy promoting the fourth installment of the "John Wick" franchise, in which he plays the character Charon. He was also scheduled to make a guest appearance on Kelly Clarkson's show next week. However, the actor did not attend the New York City premiere of the film and instead posted a selfie video on social media, showing him at home with his dogs.
Prior to his work in "John Wick," Reddick was best known for his role as Cedrick Daniels, a fictional Baltimore Police Department officer, in the HBO series "The Wire." His character appeared in all five seasons of the show. Reddick also had recurring roles in several other popular TV shows, including "Fringe," "Bosch," "Oz," and "Lost."
Reddick was born and raised in Baltimore and received a music degree from the University of Rochester before earning his MFA from Yale. His death is a loss for the entertainment industry, and his fans are mourning the loss of a talented actor who brought so much to his roles.
