Lamorne Morris And Tommy Davidson To Make Guest Appearances On New CBS Sitcom, ‘Poppas House’

Damon Wayans and his son, Damon Wayans Jr., are bringing nostalgia to their new CBS sitcom Poppa’s House with guest appearances from familiar faces. The father-son duo will pay tribute to their past hit shows, In Living Color and New Girl, by welcoming special guests Tommy Davidson and Lamorne Morris in an episode slated for February.

Morris, best known for his role as Winston on New Girl, will play Todd, a film school friend trying to lure Wayans Jr.’s character back into filmmaking. On the same episode, Tommy Davidson, who starred alongside the elder Wayans on In Living Color, will appear as Jarnold, a work acquaintance of Wayans’ character, Poppa. Despite sharing years of elevator rides, the two know little about each other beyond their fun rapport during those rides.

Poppa’s House, which premieres on October 21, centers on Wayans Sr. as a legendary talk radio host and divorced father still navigating parenthood with his adult son (Wayans Jr.), a dreamer balancing his creative aspirations with family responsibilities. The show blends humor and heart, capturing the generational dynamic between father and son.

In addition to his guest spot on Poppa’s House, Morris recently won an Emmy for his role in Fargo and will star in Amazon’s Spider-Noir alongside Nicolas Cage and Brendan Gleeson. Meanwhile, Davidson continues to make waves with appearances in shows like The Ms. Pat Show and The Neighborhood.

Produced by CBS Studios, Poppa’s House is helmed by Dean Lorey, with Andy Ackerman directing the pilot. Wayans, Wayans Jr., and Kevin Hench serve as executive producers, with Kameron Tarlow overseeing the project under Wayans Jr.'s Two Shakes Entertainment.
