Kim Kardashian Inks First-Look Deal With 20th Television; Teams With Kenya Barris To Launch New Comedy Series With La La Anthony At Hulu
Kim Kardashian has entered into a first-look deal with 20th Television, the studio behind shows like ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘All's Fair’. This agreement, which covers drama, comedy, and limited series, marks a significant step in Kardashian's venture into television production.
Kardashian's first project under this multi-year deal is ‘Group Chat’, a comedy in development for Hulu. She has partnered with her close friend La La Anthony, who will star in the series. ‘Group Chat’ is based on Anthony's bestselling book, ‘The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness’. The series is created by ‘black-ish’ creator Kenya Barris, and it's a co-production between 20th TV and BET Studios, where Barris is a principal partner.
Kardashian and Anthony are both executive producers on the project, alongside Barris, who produces through his Khalabo Ink Society, with Adam Kassan also on board as an executive producer.
Kardashian expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "I’m passionate about telling stories that are personal, complex, and relevant to my experiences and those around me. After working closely with the talented team at 20th Television on ‘American Horror Story: Delicate’, I’m excited to embark on my first wave of television projects with Karey Burke, Eric Schrier, and the entire team at Hulu and Disney."
